Modulus
Modulus is an experimental project developed to expedite the prototyping of movements. It features a four-layer, modular design inspired by the efficiency and compactness of a bento box, allowing each layer to be stacked for optimized functionality and flexibility. This project prioritizes modularity without sacrificing functionality, aiming to translate 3D motion onto 2D surfaces.
Designed primarily for use in 3D printing workshops and the creation of large-scale installation works, Modulus streamlines the process of generating kinetic surfaces and movements. It significantly reduces the resources required for such creations by offering a system that supports a wide range of movement combinations. This is achieved through an innovative approach that allows users to easily interchange design elements, enabling the rapid prototyping of movement patterns. Modulus is crafted to empower users to experiment with and realize various dynamic configurations in a remarkably short time frame.
